Two retired but formerly rival estate agents in the South West have died within a day of each other.
Taunton agents David Ware (pictured, above), founder of Ware & Co and a former NAEA president and Peter Lee, who ran an eponymous estate agency in the town and was also a well-known name in the area, have died in their mid-70s following their retirement from sales and lettings.
David Ware, who has died aged 74 and is said to have loved his work as an estate agent, founded his company in 1986 and in 1991 became president of NAEA Propertymark.
Although he later retired, he was a frequent visitor to his former business’s branch in Taunton, which is still run by members of his family.

A celebration of his life is due to be held today at Taunton Deane Crematorium at 2pm, at which family members have said mourners can wear ‘bright colours’ to celebrate his life.
Peter Lee, who died a day after David Ware on June 24 aged 76 years, was a well-known local estate agent who also ran his own company and who also gained local fame after serving as a mayor of Taunton.
His funeral is due to take place also at Taunton Deane Crematorium on July 18th at 2.30pm.
