Purplebricks is to launch a new iteration of its TV advertising taking advantage of its pricey official sponsorship of  Team GB Olympians.

The company has told its followers on Twitter to watch out for details of its new ads today but its advertising company Snap London jumped the gun yesterday, revealing details of the campaign, which reflects the fact that the athletes in the GB team have more time on their hands following the postponement of the Tokyo games.

It features an actress playing a Purplebricks agent dialling in on video to annoy athletes and persuading them to list their homes overtures which are generally rejected by the athletes.

Created to tout the agency’s virtual valuations capability, taekwondo champion Bianca Walkde is interrupted during practice, diver Dan Goodfellow is infuriated when his bath is cut short by a webcam call. Rowe Moe Sbihi MBE is plagued with a quiz about Purplebricks, before hanging up the call in frustration.

Gold boards

The campaign is in addition to previous Team GB tied ads and the introduction of Olympic-inspired gold versions of the brand’s sale boards.

Purplebricks’ sponsorship of Team GB was announced in June last year making it the ‘official estate agency’ of the team and giving it the right use the Team GB Olympics logo in its marketing.

The postponement of the games, although frustrating for thousands of athletes, has been a been a boon for Purplebricks, which now has longer to enjoy its association with the event.
