Property portal wannabe Homesearch’s CEO Giles Ellwood has sent an email to its member agents confirming that the company is delaying its official debut to give it more time to prepare its tech, onboard estate agents, integrate with CRM providers including Reapit and DezRez and test its service.
The platform originally gave itself just two months to build a property search service from scratch, but this has proved more of a challenge than expected.
Homesearch now has 6,000 agents signed up to its free property data service, but will soon also offer them free listings on its platform and also pass on any leads generated from members of the public.
Ellwood says that the company is to generate revenue by charging agents a monthly service to send out prospecting direct mail letters to homeowners and landlords, should they choose to use the optional service, to generate instructions.
It claims to have the details of 3.5 million homeowners and landlords in the UK on its database and agents will be able to send up to 1,500 letters at a time to this database, starting at £155 a month.
Homesearch is offering discounts to the first 1,000 agents who sign up to this deal.
“Even if an agent does not subscribe to our paid features, we guarantee to always provide them a powerful and attractive listing service at no cost and assurances that we will never sell their data,” says Ellwood.
Homesearch says it will offer a complimentary service to Rightmove and Zoopla by providing home hunters more information than either portal by providing searches based on plot or property size, for example, information that is not offered by the big portals.
