Staff from a Yorkshire estate agency chain played their own starring role in its annual charity Christmas card competition – by recreating the set of TV’s Peaky Blinders.

Colleagues from Linley & Simpson’s branch in Saltaire, where the hit BBC drama is filmed, stepped back in time and donned flat caps for their entry, which itself proved a ratings winner.

The directors, Will Linley and Nick Simpson, the team was judged to be overall victors in this year’s contest, which raises money for children with life-limiting illnesses.

Runner-up was the agency’s accounts team for serving up a festival take on Brexit and Brussels sprouts; while third place went to its head office staff for their own slant on ‘Where’s Wally’.

A prize for best use of imagination and Photoshop went to its newest branch, Headingley, for its Toy Story-themed entry.

Every year, all 15 branches in the Linley & Simpson network, as well as its head office functions, are invited to take part.

As part of a Facebook and wider social media campaign, the company donates money to Martin House, a children’s hospice near Wetherby, for every ‘like’ the entries attract.
