Knight Frank has lost one of its most high-profile names after its Head of UK Residential Research Gráinne Gilmour revealed that she has joined Zoopla in similar role.
Gilmour spent nearly nine years at Knight Frank during which she was a frequent media commentator on housing and before that spent 11 years at The Times newspaper, latterly as its economic correspondent.
She joins Zoopla’s flagship Research and Insight team, led by its Director, Richard Donnell.
The portal has created a new role for her, in which she will build on the momentum gained during 2019, to drive a programme of data driven insight focused on the most important aspects of the housing market facing Zoopla’s customers and consumers.
Innovation
Gráinne says: “Zoopla is innovating to help agents and developers and inform consumers on every aspect of their property journey, making it a very exciting time to join the business.
“There is a real opportunity to leverage Zoopla’s wide breadth of unique data through market leading analytics and data science to deliver additional value to our customers, and to inform first-time buyers, home movers, renters, investors and developers.”
Donnell adds: “Grainne is one of the UK’s leading housing market analysts and we are delighted she has joined Zoopla to expand our programme of thought leadership and market insight.”
It’s been a busy few weeks for the Knight Frank recruitment department. As well as Gilmour, two senior branch managers, a portfolio lettings manager and a build-to-rent specialist have all jumped ship from the agency to ‘digital platform’ roles recently.
Her move may also require a rejig at the next NAEA Conference on 27th February, at which she was due to present a keynote speech.
