The Guild of Property Professionals may not get mentioned often when the industry discusses online agents other than to wonder what’s happening to EasyProperty.

But all of The Guild’s 800 or so member agents have a higher market share of sales in the UK than Purplebricks, it turns out.

The Guild’s member agents have the highest market share percentage on exchanges in the UK at 5.55%, some way ahead of Purplebricks, which has at best 4.5%, according to research by market analyst Mike DelPrete.

The Research from The Guild, which was completed by data firm Twenty EA, also reveals that its agents collectively have the highest percentage of new instructions in the UK at 5.17%, some way ahead of the next largest traditional estate agency brand, which has 3.8%.

The statistics suggest that if The  Guild was an estate agency brand, it would therefore be the largest in the UK.

Ian McKenzie imageIain McKenzie (left), CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals, says: “Over the past few years The Guild has seen substantial growth and expansion. As a result, its representation of the current market share of instructions has also grown.

“Our vision is to continue to expand with sights set on regions that currently do not have a Guild Member… and to have approximately 1,100 Members to offer full comprehensive coverage in the UK.

“We are striving to become the benchmark of professionalism within the industry, and the consumer’s first choice when looking to buy or sell a property.”
