The next step towards the launch of a free and open CRM marketplace platform for single-branch estate agents is to take place in London today, it has been revealed.
Following a lively meeting of agents and over 100 software suppliers in September (pictured, above) at which many people vented their frustrations over ‘proptech fatigue’, a launch plan to integrate the first 18 suppliers into the new Best Agent Marketplace is taking place at the Lloyds Insurance building in central London.
When the build is completed, any supplier will be able to plug into the Marketplace via an API.
The initiative is designed to offer smaller estate agents access for free to the same basic proptech and CRM services that larger ones take for granted. This includes rent payment handling via PayProp, signboard ordering via Agency Express, automated property valuations through ValPal and blockchain sales progression from ViewMyChain.
Multi-branch agents
Once marketplace is ready to roll with its first suppliers and the technology has been proved, more tech firms will be able to join, as will agents with more than one branch.
Although the marketplace is to be free for agents, Best Agent is to charge agents for additional services over and above the basic functions available, and also charge the tech firms to plug into the system.
“It will spare agents the headache of interface-fatigue and multiple data entry, and make access to new products much easier for them,” says Best Agent founder Charlie Wright (left).
“We are focusing only on delivering this facility to single branch agents to begin with, as they make up the largest proportion of the industry, and represent a long-tail of vast opportunity to suppliers.”
