Klevio One is a mobile-phone controlled access system that ends the need for physical keys.
Klevio One is a ‘smart intercom’ that enables homeowners and tenants to open their doors with their mobile phones and share ‘electronic keys’ with agents requiring access to their property.
Claimed to be the first of its kind in the UK, its introduction follows a pilot with 1,000 users in London, launching outside the capital later this year, backed by £1.2 million from investors including holiday company onefinestay.com.
The system is a digital online platform that enables existing intercom and door locking systems to be controlled from anywhere via a mobile phone app. Landlords, for example, will be able to remotely open the door of a flat to a letting agent doing a viewing or investigating a leak.
“Keys were invented thousands of years ago, and having a piece of metal sitting in your pocket today feels odd,” says Klevio founder Demetrios Zoppos.
“Our users keep their existing locks and old keys as a backup, and the use of Klevio is not obvious to anyone outside the building.”
Greg Marsh, onefinestay co-founder and an early investor in Klevio, says, “Managing multiple properties is hard, we were wasting getting keys to our guests, then we started working on the keyless entry system that has today been perfected as Klevio One.”
