Estate agents in London last week raised £16,000 for a cancer charity at this years’ Rumble with the Agents boxing evening organised by TV star Paul Shamplina’s Landlord Action and sponsored by its parent company, Hamilton Fraser.
Raising funds for local charity Cherry Lodge Cancer Care, the evening is unusual because property professionals with limited boxing experience fight each other in a ring surrounded by dining tables.

Some 260 people attended the evening at a Holiday Inn hotel in North London including wannabe pugilists from sales and letting agent Oscar Knight, workspace fit-out firm Area Square, property management firm The Happy Tenant company and – fittingly – dispute resolution provider the Property Redress Scheme.
Now in its fourth year, the event has raised a total of £75,000 for local London charities and this year guests enjoyed a three-course meal, a raffle and a charity action with a stunning set of lots including sporting memorabilia signed by boxer Muhammad Ali, a signed Spurs shirt and an inked photo of pop star Ed Sheeran.
Competitive bunch
“I appreciate the concept of property and boxing do not appear as a natural fit for one another, but knowing what a competitive bunch property professionals are, I thought it would be a great opportunity to encourage some of those I have worked with over the years to join me in raising money for charity,” says Paul Shamplina.

Patrick Brandrick
“I would also like to give a special mention to Patrick Brandrick of Putney agent Oscar Knight Estate Agents, who, on his mission to get fit, lost over two stone in weight during training.”
The event is part of a Summer-long fundraising effort by Shamplina on behalf of Cherry Lodge, which offers free support and advice to those who have been diagnosed with cancer.
This includes an event on 22nd June when Shamplina will be taking to the ring himself with some stiff competition; ten fellow amateur boxers from around London. To sponsor Paul, visit his Just Giving page.
